Holdens and life in Moira I was reminded by Graham that in the dim and distant past I drove a yellow Holden belonging to one Grant Adams! It had column gears and the hand brake on the wrong side but somehow I coped and drove hundreds of klms in it with Daph and my Mum as passengers! We are settling in to life in Moira and gradually all the boxes are disappearing somewhere (one day the wardrobe shelf will collapse I fear!). You may regret your comment that we can do anything we like in the garden as already bushes and trees are disappearing...... We await the purchase of the car with baited breath!! Enjoy the footie. Love Mum and Dad K

No "shag's" for a year Well it's happened the Howell's have left blighty for a whole year (jammy B's).
Somehow the Tradeteam network seems strangely quite now that Darryl can no longer be heard calling...."SHAG !!".
Have a fantastic time and watch out for anything that bites.
Take it easy and don't worry about us workers

Wow - I can't believe your already there! Hi both
Glad you had a good and fun filled journey. Sad but true - Mark actually has video footage of your plane above him just after you left the ground and he can be heard shouting 'bye' and waving! Ozzy is behaving well and is now part of the 'night night' routine for Harley.

Are you there yet? Day 6 without Darryl - there is a certain lack of amusement around the office! what are we to do without you - Just 365 days to wait til you are back (Sorry to depress you)! Our count down starts now too.
Have fun Buddy x x
Good luck and have fun... Watch out for the giant mutant Kangaroos we've been reading about that have been kicking camper vans off the road and stealing the sausages.
Trespasser went to Bennets racing - which is a good home and at least it will get campaigned the way it deserves. We'll see you at some point in the future I'm sure.
Best of luck: Mike/Linda
2 weeks Hi Both, I'm giving it two weeks before Dar makes the Oz tabloids for wrestling in some 3 inch puddle with his blow up croc after session on tooheys amber nector ....pmsl.... Have great one am well envious of the adventure ahead! Clive.
Your upcoming trip Sounds like you are going to have a great trip. As I have said to others, I am so envious.
I hope you continue the blog during your Australian travel.
NRMA has a great book on caravan parks. No free sites, though. And its only $10/$11 for members.
We took our Garmin GPS with us. It was great.
We just used our credit card and paid via the internet every couple of weeks!!
We did our trip anti-clockwise, which is similar to yours.
Check our our blog, if you have time/interest: mytb.org/ThePass
Checking In Hi Guys, you must be really really excited now as the month itself has dawned. I hope you are not feeling the pressure too much.
We were talking about you this morning and said it would not be long before you come out, so we thought we would check your countdown.
We are in the Barossa Valley at the moment, cannot guarantee that I will come out of this place sober.
Don't bring many clothes, you won't wear them, we wear the same things time and time again (we have washed them though!) bring plenty of shorts, but just be mindful that these lastcouple of months and the winter months to come in the south can be very cold at night.
Don't forget a good pair of Polarized sunglasses and plenty of marmite (you can get Tetley Tea out here).
Will check out you itinerary at some point to see if we are going to coincide anywhere on route.
Don't forget your maps, walking boots (&poles if you have them), gators will help to keep the snake bites off your ankles (tee hee).
On the Testra dongle we bought a month ago we used 65% of 1GB we have used it quite a bit so if you go down that road we think 1GB is more than enough.
Take care and keep us posted

What to take Clothes: we wear constantly, zip off trousers (lightweight), T shirts, shorts/ 3/4 pants for me. Dress in oz is very casual, 1 pr jeans each, but too hot to wear often. You need walking shoes, sandals, and we bought cheap crocks from Kmart for $7 ea and live in them around campsites, walking to beaches etc. Don't need much good stuff, never wear it! Need sweatshirts for evening, jackets for cooler nights in some places, we have about a weeks worth of undies, which is enough. Don't bring too much! We have just arrived back in NZ for a holiday with most of the better clothes we took with us and haven't worn! You don't need them in oz.
Camps 4 book is our bible, with great Hema maps and numbered campsites that are cheap. Hope this is helpful. Cheers Lynne
Fun Times Ahead!! Loving the roof man thats must of been a laugh a minute!
After reading this I just can't think what is going to happen over the next 12 months ...lol... This blog will be my regular read when i feel i need to smile haha!:o)
All the best you nutters enjoy you road trip!!! Envious

Never too early Hi both, it is never too early, it is great to get people interested early in the blog and advertise it well. We made a postcard and sent it to our christmas card list and told people not to send us a christmas card as we would not be in England.
Seek as much advice as you can. It does help, don't rush into any decision until you are sure it is right for you.
We will be watching with interest and if our paths cross then it would be nice to catch up and swap stories. We will be in Melbourne in next couple of weeks, too early for you. Then onto Tasmania for a couple of weeks, then back on the mainland to continue around Aus clockwise.
Good Luck (I am envious that you have your adventure to look forward to, a lot of the fun is in the planning). Emotions run high in the final days before leaving, but don't let it stop you!!!

Welcome, come in, take a seat and enjoy the view!
We were lucky enough to be in a position to make one of our dreams come true and it's hard to believe that we can now say we've 'been there and done that! It was the sort of adventure that 'normal people' like us could only dream about, taking a year out of work and travelling around Australia in a caravan towed by a 4WD. Somehow though we managed to turn it into a reality and between April 28th 2009 and April 26th 2010 that's exactly what we did.
