isa Hello my lovelies, I just love to hear about people having fun. The only Isa I know is a savings account. Some of your pics are superb.
Not a good year for us racing wise. We are having a new cam, new bearings and the block machined. But we have a wicked paint job. I have been off for 6 weeks and achieved loads. We cleared our garage which was full of shite. Been catching up with friends, drank a lot, ate a lot and going to Oxford to see family for a few days.
Keep it all coming its amusing and great.
Take care

We win - we knew about Greg! Yep - we had the er fortune to stay two nights in Mt Isa a few years back. By the way, Alice, a few days ago someone asked if I came from Australia and then yesterday we were asked if we came from Cornwall and we thought we had nice, gentle west country accents - these Derbyshire/Leicestershire folk just don't know their accents do they!!
hello Alice Girl LOL LOL LOL Alice from Vicar of Dibley so that makes Darryl that what's his name bloke Hugo!! I think thats Hilarious! Thanks for postcard keep em coming.
Caught out or what! Well the hiking sandals have stood up to most things very well but we both have proper walking boots too! It's just really hot wearing them when the sun is blazing down!! We have to admit that we did do all the Lawn Hill walks in sandals though, but we survived!!! x x x
Hiking Boots It's your Mum talking here - I hope you managed to get some new boots (good quality walking boots!) as you probably shouldn't be trekking over those rocks in sandals! xxx
How fantastic! Hello Caroline's Mum and Dad! Great to hear from you and thank you so much for sharing the poem! We had a great time with Kangaroojack, a real hoot and hopefully we'll repeat it again before we return to the UK.
We'll have another go at more poems soon, it's good fun and the subjects are endless out here!! All the very best to you both. Darryl and Sarah
Alright, I'm a Twitcher! After hours of checking, I think the unknown bird could be a white browed babbler but I stand to be corrected! If Lynne doesn't want the frog, we'll have it - it looks so sweet and would be a lovely addition to the pond! I'd fit snugly into the back of the car but Dad might struggle a bit - we'll look forward to trying it out! Impressive photos as always. xxx Mum
Greetings from Helen and Bill It is great to hear you are enjoying such a fantastic trip. I would love to do a similar trip, just need to convince Helen.
I don't know how you manage to do all these blogs, as I struggle to read them all but do enjoy them.
Helen and I have just returned from Mooloolaba (Sunshine Coast ) for 9 days which was a good break, but now back to work.
Jordan stared with us this week so he is on a steep learning curve. All our family are well and it sounds as if you are both well. Continue to have a good time love Helen and Bill
Poems Australia
*******
Caroline and Andy, Sarah and Darryl
are touring Australia in summer apparel
The days are very hot but the nights can be cold
To escape the wet England they are very bold
Darryl and Sarah Caroline and Andy
Met outside Cairns by gosh that was handy
From Possums to spiders and snakes, oh! be wary
kangaroos, and koalas and the odd cassowary
The wedge tailed eagle on road kill they spy
with camera in hand, the birds then do fly
Their blogs are amazing and photos give cheer
We hear they've been fossiking, then stop for a beer
The gems that they found they took to the shop
No fortunes here, so it's no time to stop
They swim in the lakes and also the pools
Watch out for the crocodiles as they are no fools
The water is cold which cools them all down
so back to the campsite and then into town
A lamb roast for tea with veggies and dampers
The campfire is lit and off with their jumpers
The oven is placed on the embers that glow
and in no time at all the food is a "Wow!
Reticulated campsites they think are a must
but oh dear when they get there "There's no room for us!"
With no light pollution in the blackness of night
Their stargazing is perfect, they exclaim with delight
An inter planetary walk would be just the thing
So next time they go a telescope they will bring
So Darryl and Sarah, Caroline and Andy
A good time they've had, no need to be dandy
With kisses and hugs they go separate ways
And promised to meet on some other day.

The Flintstones Song Flintstones... Meet the Flintstones,
They're a modern stoneage family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history.
Let's ride with the family down the street.
Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet.
When you're with the Flintstones,
have a yabba dabba doo time,
a dabba doo time,
we'll have a gay old time
Rock On! Hi Guys, just to let you know that we miss you already, I wish I could say we are having a quiet day but we have been busy catching up on some chores. Your site was taken by lunchtime, but just to say that before that, this place was crawling with Cassowaries... ;-)... tee hee, but you knew that would happen! We saw the Savannah Lander at the station, it looks like all the school kids are on it today, no wonder there weren't any spaces left! Have a safe trip guys. Kangaroo Jack xx
Blown away! Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to comment on the blog. We truly loved our experience of Daintree and we're really glad that it came across that way. Fingers crossed we'll get the chance to visit again sometime. All the very best to you both and please, if you see Mick, tell him how grateful we were to him for his time. Thanks again. Dar and Sar
A great post Hi Darryl and Sarah,
Just wanted to say it's great to hear how much you have enjoyed our beautiful Daintree and especially Mick's cruise - and lovely photos too. We've lived here for 12 years and built and operate Daintree Valley Haven in Stewart Creek valley, beyond Daintree Village. It gives us a buzz when visitors love the area as much as we do!
Cheers - Daphne and Peter Titus-Rees
He was good! Hello, yes Mick told us all the names of the birds we saw so I'm going to make a list this morning! There were ALOT but I didn't manage to get many that weren't blurs!!!
Birdie Spotting Did your friend Mick identify the birds you took photos of? I can only come up with a satin flycatcher (one with a white breast) and a dollarbird (blue one).
When you don't know what you're looking at! You see, we see these things and then find out what they are later!!! It's easy with crocs, you just know where you are with them!!
...! Jesus guys, good job you didn't bother that one, looks highly likely from your pics, description and knowing where you were and what it's like that it's a red-bellied black snake... Put it like this, I'd have moved away in a big big hurry, it's highly venomous...
I knew that!! You see, I'm wishing the years away by saying he was 39 and that we're the same age! Thanks for making me a year younger! It was ACE to speak to you all and we'll definately do it again sometime. x x
sorry to tell you gos is only 38!! really good to hear you. you were very awake, well done i'm sure i couldn't be at that time ask the boys!!
had a good evening and all said to speak again maybe a lunchtime for us so late eve for you speak soon love e xx
Welcome, come in, take a seat and enjoy the view!
We were lucky enough to be in a position to make one of our dreams come true and it's hard to believe that we can now say we've 'been there and done that! It was the sort of adventure that 'normal people' like us could only dream about, taking a year out of work and travelling around Australia in a caravan towed by a 4WD. Somehow though we managed to turn it into a reality and between April 28th 2009 and April 26th 2010 that's exactly what we did.
Our beautiful home and much loved cat in Moira, Derbyshire, UK were looked after by fami... full info
