Got yer bat girl? Hello Sarah, Im very very envious - it looks fantastic- nothing like Ashby - always fancied doing Aus and NZ - most likely never will now. If you've taken your bat with you and fancy a game, don't forget my friend Bob Neville is a winter resident in Aus and plays at Westminster TTC in Perth. He tells me they have an excellent coach and each member has the chance of 15 minutes with him, he was in the Chinese national team and gives everbody a very good work out. Ring Paulus when you get there on 9338 7432 and mention Bob's name. Bob says you can also check all the clubs in Perth from the web site for West Australia (WATTA). Mind you the place looks too nice to bother and play TT. Mike.
Pretty but am I just a gull? No - definitely not a gull!! We saw a lot of these on our travels in Aus but I'm struggling to positively identify it. I thought it was a stone curlew but now I'm not so sure....... Love Mum K
Too Easy? That's more like it!! this is more testing for me! I thought it might be a yellow wattlebird but it seems they only live in Tassie so I'll have to dig around a bit more unless anyone else can help? Love Mum K
BBQ question? What does kangaroo taste like? Sounds like you will not run out of meat on your trip ;-)
Yesterday weactually used the BBQ for the 1st time this year (didn't BBQ at all last year) & it's even hotter today. Blazing sun & not a cloud in the sky, makes a very pleasant change for us.
Great job on the blog. You should have a word with the Australian Tourism crew & get them to subsidise your trip.
I'll pass on the rabbit poo, by the way ;-)
Wonderful Mallacoota Yes, we agree. We spent a few days there with Daphne and could have stayed a lot longer. We'll definitely pencil in 3 or 4 days there on our next trip. Love Mum and Dad K

I think it's an Ibis! Hello! we have just returned from our week in Bridport with David and have been catching up with all the blogs. We are really impressed with Sweetie Pie - we spent the week looking out for Nissan Terrano's and saw at least 4 but no white ones! Tiger is fine and fortunately was quite pleased to see us!! Sorry we missed your phone call but we'll catch up soon. Love Mum and Dad K
See you soon Hi Shag and Alice, glad you are getting used to the travelers way of life. We are stopping at a place called Placid Waters on Bribie Island for 4 weeks, we should be over the jet lag by the 29th so we will defo meet up.

Better than a soap Following the adventures of your car hunting is like following a soap drama but much more exciting !!!!
Hope it turns out to be "The one" and glad to here the tomtom worked.
Update from this end of the world, me and benno have been to kempton races and both won but not listening to bennos tips but following my advice of "i just seen a guy put 750 e/way on a 20/1 horse. 5 mins later im 135 pound richer and benno 22.50 as he went all out with a 1.50 e/way bet (hey big spender).
take care tony
Glad you are having such a great time(Did you understand the Aussie rules after a few tinnies I don't suppose it matters!) Looking forward to further updates. XXXXX
Sounds like fun You are obviously having a great time , not withstanding the frustrations of the car search ;-)
Sounds like the Aussie rules game was fun, & the crowds gave you an excuse for a half of lemonade.
The States was great fun. Claire's team came 4th (the best result ever for the school) & got a World's medal as a result. New York was excellent but very hectic. There are some photos on Facebook if you are interested. See Claire's photos if you want to see more photos of the dancers. Keep the updates coming, you could get a job as a travel writers at this rate. :-D
Welcome, come in, take a seat and enjoy the view!
We were lucky enough to be in a position to make one of our dreams come true and it's hard to believe that we can now say we've 'been there and done that! It was the sort of adventure that 'normal people' like us could only dream about, taking a year out of work and travelling around Australia in a caravan towed by a 4WD. Somehow though we managed to turn it into a reality and between April 28th 2009 and April 26th 2010 that's exactly what we did.
Our beautiful home and much loved cat in Moira, Derbyshire, UK were looked after by fami... full info
