After more than a week in Langkawi I crossed the broder to Thailand and right now I'm in an amazing Ko Lipe island. I've heard so much about it from fellow travellers, I needed to see it for myself :) I'll spend here a month or so as it's so relaxing and the clarity of the water is just insane :o) Accomodation isn't as expensive as everybody said it would be - but food is more expensive and the portions are tiny :) I'm planning to go on a few snorkling trips, train and swim everyday and just relax :) ... read more

So this entry comes from Koh Lanta on our first evening here. We've just concluded our "Koh Lipe" section of the trip, and I must say I was amazed by the beauty of the island and the beauty of the people alike. It's amazing being surrounded by unconditionally happy people. Along my way I met some new friends Frida and Freddy from Europe. It was very nice talking and learning the different ways that people interpret travel. As I have a limited time in this trip I cannot pull off their way travel. They just get over here and go until they run out of money. Koh Lipe is beautiful as well. The sands on the sunrise beach were amazingly fine, and the visibility of the water was unbelievable. Our group is smaller then the usual ... read more

Die Stadt Hat Yai, gerade mal ... read more

After almost a full day of travel we finally made it to Ko Lipe. We were originally planning to head to Lao Laing, but the weather was too bad for a boat to make it there safely. Tonight we will be celebrating Halloween with a big party at a local bar on the island. I plan on dressing up as a lady boy for the party, which may or may not be a good idea. The hammocks are hanging and creating a very relaxing environment. Jet lag should not be a problem any more. I'm going to make this a short entry as I am distracted. Peace.... read more

So, second blog of my travels... On Tuesday morning Lara and I went island hopping to 3 islands on a speedboat, despite the rain and grey clouds over the sea. The 'speedboat' was not quite what I had imagined and appeared to be and felt like it was falling to bits...we were being thrown around like rag dolls and getting absolutely soaked, but it was fun. The first island was Palau Dayang Bunting (Geoforest National Park) famous for the Lake of Pregnant Maiden, where legend has it drinking from the lake improves womens' fertility Unfortunately (or, maybe, fortunately!), we didn't manage to reach the lake on the other side of the island as we spent most of our time there being attacked by monkeys. Unknown to us, we were actually on "Monkey Island" - so a ... read more

The last few weeks having been particularly difficult it felt good to back with the plan and winging my way in a comfortable train to Koh Adang, remote and beautiful island in the Turatao national park. Alas, I should have known this contentment could not last. Alighting from the long tail I was a little perturbed to clock the vast array of people frolicking upon my deserted beach. This was most certainly not part of the plan. Neither was the discovery that the island was fully booked (thanks to the national holiday to celebrate the King's birthday - DOH!), salvation did lay to hand however. The park authorities were quite prepared to lend lend me a tent (for a ridiculously small fee) so I could camp on the island. However, if one look at the hoards ... read more

Fantastiske smukke. Ikke mange steder i verdenen ... read more

Koh Lipe The first day we left by speed boat to Trang about an hour ride through islands to the mainland. It was beautiful with many different islands and the crystal clear waters. After waiting on the dock in Trang for an hour we got on a bigger boat for a 2 ½ trip to Koh Lipe. This island is another one that we were told about by others. When we arrived the beach was so shallow that we were taken off the big boat by longtail boat to the shore where you had to walk through water with your suitcase to the beach. Again the beach was covered in boats, which are extremely loud in the morning and distract too much from the beauty of the beach leaving a bad taste in your mouth for ... read more

After an hours speedboat ride we arrived on the most amazing little Thai island where the sand was white and the sea was stunning. We stayed in an amazing place in the middle of the jungle on this small but beautiful island. Unfortunately the bugs liked Josef way too much and gave him a fair bit of grief but he dealt with it well and loved living in the jungle bless him! We had so much fun building sandcastles and tel and J even saw nemo’s one day! We pretty much spent the week lying on the beach and trying our best to avoid the evil mozzies! The week flew by and before we knew it we were on the speedboat back to langkawi ready to take them back to the airport. It was sad ... read more
