Pai The road to Pai was long and windy. It lead through the hills of northern Thailand, almost never in a straight line. I was sitting at the back of the minibus, so my stomach was very pleased when we arrived. Because it wasn't peak season, there weren't very many people about. We managed to find ourselves a lively bungalow looking out over the river. We looked out onto the hilly landscape, completed with a fisherman throwing out his net in the river. Pai is famous for it's hippy scene. The first evening we were there, we wandered out for a drink or two. The only place with a lively atmosphere (i.e. with more than 3 people in it) was the Art Cafe.
