Kinda late with this post, but well as they say, better late than never! After leaving Japan en route back home to Singapore I decided to pop by Taipei in Taiwan for a bit. I'd been there just a few years ago, but that was a really short two day stay so I thought I'd re-visit and check things out at a more leisurely pace. I have to say for some reason I had rather high expectations for Taipei -- everyone talks about the friendly people, the great food in the night markets, and the cute and pretty girls with their pleasant Mandarin accents. And they're all true. But for some reason Taiwan just didn't quite grab me like Korea and Japan did. Taipei reminded me a lot of Chongqing on the mainland -- old, rather ... read more

I decided to have a little fun and post about something that happen a week or so ago. Natalie, one of my roommates keeps her laptop under the bed. One morning she went to grab it and....DUN DUN DUNNNN......a monster. Well, actually it was a cockeroach. It was pretty big. Unfortunately for him, he ended up on his back and couldn't flip back over. We took pity on him since Natalie accidently chopped one of his legs off with a cup and we set him free out the window. We haven't seen him or any of his buddies since. *knocks on wood*... read more

I just got home. It's 11:30. I still have readings to do. FML. Anyways I felt like it was time to post. This feeling doesn't come very often and when it....I'm usually no where near a computer or paper and pen. But like I said I just got home to the Teacher's Hostel. This is thanks to my Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Kendo practices at NCCU. Like I said in the 'Kendo" post practice runs for three hours. I will elaborate more in a post called 'Kendo part 2', which will talk about today's and last friday's practice. I have more pictures to put up and I should prbably explain them but, oh well, it's 11:30.... read more

Hello Everyone!!! It's the long awaited update. I have been trying to find an easier blog host. Livejournal was giving me trouble on posting pictures. So here we are. I have been pretty busy this week. I have moved twice becuase the first room smelled of sewage and then the second room (which didn't smell) was too small for three people. Yup I have two rommates. THey are both transfer students like me and they are really cool. Both are from Cali. actually. I'm really the only one from the mid-west (T.T) (and Jason who is from ohio). Anyway, now we are in a none smelly room that is just the right size. I'm not sure where to start. I apologize if stuff is random and out of order. Bear with me as I figure out ... read more
