We arrived at our motel in San Diego in
the early afternoon but were able to check in early. Our
motel was very near the Old Town section of San Diego
so we walked over to it and got a few more strolling
miles in sightseeing in that area. After our Old Town
walk, we hopped in the car for what we thought would
be a quick scouting trip to the rental car return location
and to find a gas station to fill up the car before returning
it the next morning. This turned out to be much harder
than it should have been. We probably drove in several
ever expanding circles before finding the first gas station
only to discover that it only accepted debit cards or cash.
Since I do not like using debit cards, and am not real sure
what the PIN for mine is, and I didn't have much cash
with me, we struck out again to find another station.
Fortunately there was one just a few blocks away where
we were finally able to fill the car, return to our motel, and
pack up for the final time before flying out the next morning.

We returned the car with no problems Tuesday morning
and our 8:15 flight from San Diego to Atlanta was on time
and uneventful. We had a long three plus hour layover in
Atlanta so that's where we got our miles in for Tuesday.
Walking the tunnels underneath the Atlanta airport from
end to end and back again gives you just under 4 miles,
which is all (and then some for me) we needed before
catching our short flight on to GSP and the drive home.
Cats were happy to see Anne (and vise versa) , evidenced
by the fact that they followed her around for most of the
evening after we arrived.

Here are a few miscellaneous pictures of some of the flora
and fauna we encountered as well as a couple from San
Diego's Old Town.
