Long journal today. We travelled on mainly 2 lane roads with about 80K of tunnels. One of the tunnels was 24.5K long and is the longest in the world. It seems the Norwegians really like to build tunnels rather than deface the landscape. Driving in Europe also means lots of roundabouts which are an excellent solution avoiding the construction of over and underpasses and traffic lights.

On leaving Oslo we discovered why there were so few cars downtown. The main highway goes under the harbour and the downtown portion of the city. The large oceanfront promenade is actually on top of the highway.

We arrived in Bergen about 4:30. After checking into the hotel we did a short walk around the harbour and had seafood for dinner in an outdoor area. Thankfully there is only one cruise boat in today. Sometimes there are as many as 5.

The city is very quaint and we will have time over the next 2 days to explore.
