Breaky was served to us outside on the balcony next to the kitchen. We started with cereal, then tomato, baked beans, eggs and bacon before finishing with fruit. We were treated like royalty with Seawon, one of the servants, kneeling down when she was near us. I came back to the room and did 3.5 hours of homework-I figured I really didn't have choice.
We all got in David's car and drove off to Premium Outlet which was only five minutes down the road (yes, I am jealous). We all went into Adidas and Nike to look for running shoes for mum but with no luck we all piled out and decided to split up. Mum and my plan was to go into every shop that looked to sell nice things, pick up the first thing we see, look at the price tag and then decided whether to leave straight away or not which seemed to work well. Our favourite shop there was called Warehouse and basically was a warehouse for heaps of different shops like Forever 21; the shop was very cramped but knowing that that means there are more clothes to look at, we put
up with it. We ended up walking out with a maxi-dress for me, a maxi and normal dress, t-shirt and two pairs of PJ pants for mum which was all under $35 AUD in total! (We even took Nana back here later and she bought a top!!) We then met up with Nana and Pa again, before deciding to meet again in another hour, much to Pa's disgust, but it did mean he got an ice-cream, which he was stoked about. We left at 5pm after the hour was up with our clothes and a pair of goggles.
With half an hour before we had to leave, we quickly jumped in the pool for a quick swim. Nana found a small frog in the pool and scooped it out then called us over to see it. It was half the size of Nana's little finger nail!!
At 6:15 we all jumped in the car again to head off to the bat cave. We arrived at a dainty house with a viewing area of the caves, which we could access for 50B. We all climbed up the rickety spiral staircase and sat on the very unstable wooden furniture looking straight
onto the cave from 400m away. The bats are all meant to fly out of the cave at around 6pm, dusk, and fly out to the ocean for food. Finally at 6:30 tiny bats started flying out of the cave, although they looked more like insects rather than bats. For the next 25 minutes (as recorded by Pa) over
5 million small bats flew out of the cave in spiral formations towards the right of us which, by the end, twisted over us which was a surreal experience. Amongst the bats were birds that made the bats look even smaller; we watched as the bats flew into the distance and disappeared into the clouds which was truly magical. The number of bats meant that there would be a thick spiral of bats making the sky appear black in sections.
We then travelled into Cha-Am to Dee-Lek, right near the Methavalai for dinner. Nana and Pa were greeted with smiles and hugs by all the workers, within half an hour of arriving we had received our dinner which was all lovely, again good choosing by Sassie. The highlight of the dinner was defiantly Pa going behind Nana's back to order a second pineapple smoothie then the roll of Nana's eyes when it arrived.
