With a population of just under 33M, Chongqin is the largest city in China, Then Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai. 160 cities with a population more than 1M - this country is a powerhouse. The air pollution is unbelievable, even in the countryside.

We were meant to transfer from the train to the cruise ship "President 8" at Chongqin. But we were told that the river was too low for the ship to make it to Chongqin, so we had to bus it 90 min downstream to Fu Ling, where the ship awaited.

The smog/haze is the normal condition. We have seen the sun occasionally, but it is noteworthy.

Blimey wouldn't believe it but the photo shows it. They are incredible! After China you guys will need a detox of the lungs, some fresh mountain air to clear your airwaves.
