Adare to Killarney, County Kerry, Republic of Ireland

We entered County Kerry about 2:45 and stopped for a group photo on the outskirts of CastleIsland about 3:00. It was a very nice viewing area. 15 minutes later we made a stop that I can best describe as an obvious scam. We stopped in the town of Fossa (suburb of Killarney) at a place called Macken of Ireland. Dylan mentioned that if you wanted to buy something special for yourself or someone else this would be the place to do it. I must say after looking at the prices on the tags, I must really really, really, really love myself or that special someone! € 480 ($720) for a Cashmere sweater, a simple scarf was € 24 ($36), and a bracelet that a woman on our tour showed her husband was € 1300 ($1950)! Before arriving to this place Dylan spoke mostly about the free Irish Coffee with Whisky(I tried coffee for the first time. It tasted like what ashes from a cigarette would taste like…vile stuff). Never did he mentioned the high end prices. This place was located in the middle a residential area and across the street from a low level motel and convenience store. The store must obviously give a kickback to the tour company. We ended being there for 30 minutes. What a waste of time! If someone wanted to purchase high end fashions, let them do so on their own time in the towns that we stay in for 2 nights. In another 15 minutes after leaving this place, we got to our hotel, the Killarney Towers at just about 4:30.
