Oven Rock - Our little hiking trip!

We stopped at Oven Rock for a night after leaving Black Point. It was a strategic move to put us closer to Farmer's Cut. That way the following day we would exit the cut and shoot straight down to GGT.

We had told Craig and Christa what fun we had last time that we hiked to the cave and explained that Tony and Dave (from Bliss II) had snorkelled the cave. Craig and Tony got their gear packed up and we all went ashore.

We bumped into another couple on shore who had just visited the cave. They told us about it. We said that Yes! We know about the cave, we were about to snorkel there. They had no idea you could snorkel there, we told them how neat it is.

Off we went. Found the trail, and then we made our way along, through the brush, the sharp coral and the mosquitoes. We were bushwhacking. Everyone had scratches all over their ankles. Tony got a puncture wound. A lot of blood was shed...and it was all for nothing. We couldn't find the cave!!!

The four of us returned to our dinghies with
little to no fun being had. But plenty of scratches to show for our efforts.

We had sundowners onboard Inspiration and had an early night in preparation for an early morning departure.

Hi Sue, the last time we visited the cave was May 19th, 2014. If you check out that entry (Oven Rock/Little Farmer's Cay) you'll see all the pics of the magical mystery cave.
