What a huge day. Took a guided tour of the Vatican. Aside from the quite overwhelming religious aspect, the frescos, tapestries, sculptures, mosaics and artworks were mind-blowing. The tour meant we skipped the lines, hundreds of people at each location.
The museum taught me a lot about the history of Christianity. The Sistine Chapel was beautiful. How Michaelangelo created that ceiling, in those days (years), I don't know.
St Peters Basilica was massive and amazing. I touched the feet of the bronze St Peter as the pilgrims do, and said a prayer in the prayer room.
Met two girls from Perth who invited me to lunch. Nice to speak to someone other than myself for while. Turns out they know a very good friend of mine in Perth and will see him next week!
I have very sore feet but too much to see to stop.
Spag Bol for dinner. Possibly the best in the world (Ado take note - perhaps not Piazza del Sol after all - bastards!)
One more day in Rome tomorrow.
PS. No success with husband search today.
