Sunday- I had a relaxing day strolling around Matherson Lake. It is suppost to reflect the surrounding mountains but there were clouds covering the mountains!! But it was sunny so I read my book at the edge of the lake with the trees reflecting into it. In the evening a girl from the Jade carving course came down to Franz Joseph and is now travelling with me. (the people she was traveling with are going slower than she wants).

Reflections in the Lake
Hello from NY As I remember it you really have to be there at dawn (which we weren't) as otherwise there is a breeze that disturbs the water. We went up by helicopter onto the glacier (which is one reason we managed to spend so much money) The Sunday Times has an article by Jeremy Clarkson about the new dog his children chose - he describes it as an expensive mongrel - as you can no doubt guess - it's a labradoodle
