OK, today it just poured cold rain all day! There was really very little that we could do, as tourists, as it was just wet and miserable. So, we merely headed to the shopping centre at Tenero COOP, on the basis that it was all inside – the kids were not that impressed, but we did take the chance to buy some little gifts to take home, and get the groceries.

The other big excitement of the day was a slug that Steven found in the garden – couldn't believe the size of this thing! OK, its exaggerating to say it could eat an entire lettuce in a bite, but it was the biggest slug I've ever seen.

Does this give some indication how quiet our day was?

Then, a quiet afternoon at home, before heading down the hill to Martina's home – she and Floriano live most of the way to Porto Ronco, with another amazing view of the lake. Martina is very clever – we really admired the wonderful paintings that she has done, particularly the watercolours of the Lago Maggiore. It was lovely to have a night talking with Floriano and Martina, and the kids (partiulcarly Daniel and Tom) get on very well. Nonno and Nonna joined us for coffee and dessert, and then we headed up the mountain in the pouring rain again!
