Amazing Coffee on the Balcony

I absolutely loved sleeping to the sound of waves. People pay hundreds of dollars to sleep in hotels with waves crashing outside their rooms all night. This was so much more amazing, private and cheap. I slept like a rock, too.

The next morning we crawled out of our tents and made coffee. I had found some "coffee in a pouch" at Trader Joes- you literally just add water to it and let it sit for a few minutes. Works for me! I headed to the cliff balcony, and enjoyed the best cup of coffee I've ever had. I just sat there, thinking about how amazingly beautiful this spot was, sipping on my coffee and taking pictures. I could come back here again and again just to sit, think and watch the waves crash. =)

Eventually Chris joined me with breakfast. He had some kind of breakfast skillet, and I think I had lasagna again. I can't get enough of that freeze-dried lasagna. It's pretty good for being freeze-dried. He sat with me and we enjoyed the view together. I told him how glad I was that we had finally started backpacking this year. We had talked about it for several years, and just never had. This was worth it. This time with him in the back country.

After a long, relaxed while we headed back to camp to pack up. We filtered some more water and then left camp for the trek back. It didn't take us very long, and we were back at the car before noon.

Overall, this was a great trail for a beginning backpacker. Or just an experienced lazy backpacker wanting an easy trip for once. =D I absolutely will come back here again, hopefully with my daughter when she's a little bit older.
