I am landed, unpacked, and navigating my way around! The flight was 9 hours, not horrible, but I barely got any sleep! Fortunately there was a nice variety of movie selections.
Since we got to Rome at 9am, I have to stay awake all day to get better acclimated ... I am tired ...
Tonight, we walked in the city for dinner and ate near the Pantheon. I enjoyed a (very) large margarita pizza, but barely could finish half of it!
Rome is A LOT different than I expected! Historical landmarks are tucked away between alleys and piazzas.
I am excited to see what tomorrow brings, and I am just going to live in the moment!!

Pizza and alleys
Wow! How fun. Pizza looks out of this world, and your comment about landmarks being "tucked away in alleys" emphasizes how young the US really is in comparison. It is crazy. We don't stop to think of that. Thanks for painting the image.
