World Water Week
Stockholm, Sweden.Murray attended World Water Week meetings in Stockholm, Sweden. It was a great way to highlight the water issues that refugees deal with and a great way to hear what others in the industry are doing. Here is a link to an interview UN Water did with Murray at the conference.

As Murray was at the conference over a weekend, with keen family to babysit back in France, I joined him for the off days. We did a bit of sight seeing and enjoyed walking around the old town and the cafe culture that we miss from Kenya and NZ. We've yet to find the same culture in Geneva/Ferney, but we are hopeful. We both loved Stockholm, but it became very cold and I realised I am unprepared for winter, if summer-Stockholm days require puffer jackets and blankets were given at cafes. In spite of the weather we managed to get out on the water, the real ocean. We did the Under the bridges tour, which takes you around the harbour, through a lock into a lake. It was raining, but we did really enjoy it and saw a seal playing in the water. There is something about
sea air, it was bliss and we felt refreshed.
I also managed a brief trip to the UK in August for a bit of me time. I didn't realise how much I actually needed to get away for a bit, the stress of living in 2 countries, working full time and the kids finally caught up to me. It was a lovely weekend away, I shopped and stayed with the lovely Kezia and Chris. I managed a brief catch up with Jo and Malcolm, dear friends from Kenya days who relocated a few years earlier, who made a special trip up to London to see me. Thank you so much! Apologies to those in the UK that I didn't see, there are a lot of you, but I was in desperate need of some serious me time. I'm not great with travelling on my own, and did actually burst into tears when I found Kezia on my arrival. Seems I am getting better at travelling by myself, but it still seems easier to travel with 3 little people in tow.
Here's to many more weekend trips around Europe.

UK BBQ
I love the photo of you Miriam outside the town hall - you look so relaxed and gorgeous!! Am loving seeing your many London outfits in the photos : ) Did notice however you didn't mention that we were in-fact having an English BBQ in the part... well an attempt at one ; ) Ha ha... good memories, cheese and crackers in the park followed by BBQ in our kitchen at home : ) Don't think we'll try one of the disposable BBQ's again in a hurry : ) Makes for good memories xx Cannot wait to hang again soon x
