Just a quick stop in Singapore, hanging out with my cousin Jason and his housemate Andy - both actors. Have been to Singapore a few times before so haven't had to see the sights and so just been relaxing, doing a bit of shopping and getting over the hecticness of the last few weeks. Have spent the last 2 days thinking - 'ahhh it's great to be back in Asia' because am surrounded by FOOD FOOD FOOD! Let the 2 months of fabulous eating begin!
Started off with food from the local market stalls yesterday for lunch, followed by famous Singaporean Chilli Crab for dinner. Today - noodles and rice from the market for breakfast and Malay food for dinner, with numerous snack breaks in between. My waistline is in for some serious abuse me thinks!
Walking around the city yesterday, I was shocked at the smog - it's suddenly become really bad as fumes are being pushed in from Indonesia and literally the whole sky is grey and misty, you can barely see the tops of the buildings. Health warnings have been issued that the air is at 'dangerous levels' and deteriorating - better not breathe!
But
Singapore is a fun, clean and pretty city, with great food and shopping. Has also been interesting staying in a house of actors, who sleep at 4am, wake up late and are always learning lines or singing songs, and today been watcing my cousin do a video audition for an American tv program. A far cry from a regular day job!
Getting the bus up to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow for some more family fun and FOOD.

hey cousin! wowww- pics of aussie look amazzzinggg... esp whitsundays and fraser island. glad u got your photos back, can't wait to see them all.. eat tonnes in KL and think of us herE! (doug's right - weather sucks! )
