Day one: Italy

After what seemed an interminable time we arrived at Doha: first leg successfully negotiated! 2 hr Stop over then on to Rome. Negotiating our bags from the airport to Colosseo station was a challenge - but what a wonderful start to our journey stepping out from the station to view this amazing sight: a glimpse into Ancient Rome!



Great advice Mischka - we are buying tickets tomorrow to thoroughly look at both the colosseum and the forum. Everywhere you look there are amazing retaining walls and buildings being excavated and repaired.
