We thought we had left the rain behind – not a bit of it. It rained and rained and we were soaked and where were the ponchos? - back at the hotel because John said it didn’t rain in Havana. One good thing about rain, it clears the streets so we had Havana to ourselves. Havana is beautiful, elegant, faded, dilapidated and we loved it. Our guide Rainier gave us a lot of information – too much really for brain-faded tourists. Coffee break was replaced by a mojito break and gladly, by the time we had had lunch the rain had cleared and it was time for a classic car tour of the city – one for the Taylors and one for the Woods. These old USA cars are kept working by improvising spare parts and old diesel engines and they are great!

Havana is full of bars with live music and they are often packed. We booked an evening meal with Salsa show at the Café Taberna. What a show! We had a table right at the front and the 12 piece band, singers and salsa dancers were amazing. The male dancer had moves that would make Kevin from Grimsby jealous and the young female dancer certainly held the attention of the male Waylors. There was audience participation and yes the twins were up and dancing. We tumbled out of the bar at eleven, salsa music ringing in our ears and enough mojitos on board to convince us all that we could do it!

We're posting this before photos as internet not great.

Havana
Wow, the buildings are beautiful, and the cars are fantastic! Love the color everywhere. And I approve of a holiday that replaces coffee breaks with mojito breaks!
