Spartanburg, SC to Knoxville, TN

I-26 to I-40

We have finally arrived in Knoxville, TN after a long day of packing and repacking, multiple goodbyes, and inadvertent "spring" cleaning! I am helping one of my closest friends that I've know since high school, Katie, move cross-country from Spartanburg (Sparkle City, SC to San Diego, CA. She applied for and received a prestigious post-graduate school internship in Music Therapy. We hope to arrive in San Diego by New Years Eve in time to bring in the New Year. However, Mother Nature may have different plans for us as there have recently been floods and mudslides in Tennessee, tornados in Mississippi, icy roads in Texas, and a blizzard known as "Winter Storm Goliath" in New Mexico! Don't worry, we promised our mothers we would text or call them every night and let them know we made it safely to a stopping point AND check The Weather Channel each morning before heading back out on the road. Tomorrow, we plan on pit stopping in Memphis, TN for second breakfast-es, and all the way to Little Rock, Arkansas for an overnight respite. Check in tomorrow for Part II.

* The selfie we took in the car was pretty bad (lighting-wise), so here's a better photo of us for now, more, better, and current pictures to come! 😊

Fun and Long Trip
Caleb and Katie, Have fun and enjoy your cross country trip. Be prepared to spend one whole day when you hit Texas, it is a BIG state and will take most of one day to drive through. I know, I have done it several times.

yep, it has taken a whole day to get to Midland, TX from Little Rock, AR. Still have a little ways to go before we hit El Paso and get the heck out of Dodge!
