So we've spent a couple of days in Atlas Targa 20 minutes outside the city of Marrakesh. It was a nice start as is was very commercial and settled us in to the new climate. It was all inclusive and we got to taste a range of Morocco's traditional meat tagines ( slow cooked foods in a pot called tagine).

We are now ready to throw ourselves in to the morrican way of life! We booked into a Riad (guest house) called Riad Romance in the north of the cities Medina. With small winding roads and the risk of being knocked over by the bustle of people or moped's, it would have been impossible to find without the friendly morroccan that lead us down to what we thought was a dead end....

It was but thankfully that's exactly where we needed to be, the door opened to friendly owners samira and youseff. It's a beautiful Riad with a pool in the centre. Samira gave us loads of information on how to get around. Tips on what to do and experience and we now finally feel the true buzz of Marrakesh.

We decided to brace ourselves and take a walk around the narrow streets... We got lost plenty ( down to Robert) but managed to come across an old school with the most beautiful architecture. It's called Ben Youssef and was very cheap for such an incredible peice of art. We then went round the souk ( huge market!!!) you could get yourself lost unbelievably easy in this maze of small unrelenting strip of carpets, beautiful paintings, clothes, spicies, genie lamps, foods.... The list goes on! We finally came out to the square Jemaa de fnaa. This is where cafes, more market stalls, dancing monkeys and jirating snakes are along with acrobats a plenty. We will head back their tomorrow night, so stay posted in what's to come!

Gonna go now and watch the sunset on top of the beautiful Riad.
