But the question is: Was he or was he not, wearing pants underneath?
Hi folksters, it's just us again. No, we haven't buggared off round the world again, but we have been on a big expedition to ...wait for it............................... AYR where our good friends Morven and Craig were married this weekend. With Alan bolted in as Best Man, we couldn't resist publishing the photos on our Travelblog site to let you all see what a fab time we had, and of course how good Mr McCabe looks in his fabulous kilt. (Oh yeah.... Morven & Craig, you both polished up not bad aswell!!). Now, we have been to a few good weddings in our time, but we have to say that this was definately one of the very best ever! The whole day was superb from start to finish and we had an excellent time.

We headed over to Ayr, which is a seaside town situated on the West Coast about 4pm on Thursday, where a number of Morv's family from the Isle of Barra were staying for the weekend. This was great as we got to enjoy the company of a lot of the wedding party before the BIG event the next day. We were all staying at the Horizon Hotel on the seafront, which was particularly well located for that last minute trip into town to pick up the black kilt socks which the hire company had omitted to include from Alan's order. Dash dash dash!!!

Craig & Morv were married in a quaint 'oldy worldy' Coach House Hotel called the Brig O' Doon, which is in close proximity to the location of the bridge described in the Rabbie Burns tale of Tam O Shanter where a drunken horseman is chased through the night by witches and only escapes as he crosses this bridge - of course EVERYONE knows that witches can't cross water! Unfortunately Tam's horse comes off a bit worse for wear, as his horse has it's tail ripped out by one of the scraggy hags! Anyway - we never saw any witches on Friday at the wedding - although by 2am Shaz had a hairstyle that could easily have passed for one! *See photos - ouch!*

Everything about the occasion was utterly fab. Morven looked absolutely stunning - as you'll see from the photos - and the ceremony was beautiful, including a very poignant rose exchange which we're sure brought a tear to the eyes of the whole congregation. The lovely bride and her dad George were piped into the hall by Jo the lone bagpiper - very atmospheric. The food was ace (including a rather superb raspberry mousse cheesecake), the drinks were flowing, and the music was exceptionally well catered for by the amazing Vatersay Boys who travelled all the way from Barra to ensure our feet were throbbing by 10pm! The whole crowd were enthusiastically jigging the night away into the wee small hours, even Mr McCabe!

Morv & Craig are now on their honeymoon in mainland Europe, with their first stop being a trip to Paris. We're looking forward to seeing them when they get back - and M&C - if you are reading this while you are away....don't forget the postcards!

Hope you enjoy the piccies,
A&S + Mini Egg. xxx

PS: Our friends Vikki & Robbie have now embarked on their world trip and they too have a Travelblog going. They have just been on the Trans Siberian Express and you can view their blog through this link: Occasionally Bob

And believe it or not, he managed to remain sober the whole day. Good man!

She was absolutely beautiful, although she was so excited that she was running about enthusiastically and we couldn't get a good frontal photo of her while the light was good. At least you can see how pretty her wee dress was and her lovely hairstyle too. Morv bought her a book about being a Flower gril, and before the wedding she read it about 20 times! Bless.

These guys kept Shaz 'Nae Mates' company while Alan was off doing his best man thing, and very good company they were too. Fran's from Ireland & Kat's from Stoke.

Alan later noticed that a lot of the guys were swinging their sporrans round to the side while they danced. At first he didn't understand why, but soon realised this is to avoid serious injury in the nether regions below the kilt!

I loved reading your blogs and still keep checking if there are anymore posts. Actually waiting to hear about the birth of mini egg! Hopefully we'll see a few pics. Sure miss the humour/wit that was so distinctive to you guys. By the way, I'm the one who commented on "Geraldton" way back when. It sounds like you were right. The place is dead now. I am going to Oz within the next year or so and am going to make a point of heading over to the west coast and up to Geraldton just to see how things have changed. Should be interesting! Take care.

How nice!
To last commentor...... thanks for your wee note - that was nice. We should be publishing a blog soon featuring our little mini egg 'Beth' who was born on the 23rd Jan - 4 weeks early! It'll probably be from either Knutsford or Manchester where Alan is working at the moment so we spend a bit of time down there. Hope you have a great time in Aus - we cannot wit to go back again and have been poking our pal Paula to get her man down the aisle to give us an early reason to travel there again! Byeee! x

Congratulations! That is such wonderful news. A baby girl - just lovely. I love little children, so that's why I'm so thrilled for you. Enjoy every minute with little Beth. They grow up sooooo fast, and before you know it, they are taller than you, KNOW more than you etc! Thank you so much for your comment to me. I guess I should have gone to your first page and I would have read about baby Beth, but I have your last blog saved and go there to see if another one has been posted. I'll still be watching out for more blogs from you, and might comment again sometime, if you wouldn't mind. Hope you make it back to Oz. (come on Paula!) I have longed to go back for years now, and can hardly wait. Also gotta go to NZ, as I spent almost a yr there too. (My mum used to call me a gypsy!) All the very best to the three of you.
