Breakfast Time
As you can see, these are compact quarters but everything you require to sleep, eat and lounge is included. All boaters know that setting off on a cruise takes a fair amount of preparation. This is especially true if you are setting off for an extended cruise on a boat that you have never sailed.
We spent the first few days just stowing gear, cleaning and provisioning. Now the Captain is getting into it. He is installing solar panels to keep our fridge and freezer cold while we are underway and at anchor. He is figuring out the water system and connecting the hot water heater. The engine needs an oil change and the dinghy needs repairs. To make these few little tasks easy, it is 95 degrees and humid. Having fun is hard work For the Captain.
The first mate, on the other hand, is doing the cooking and cleaning and keeping the cold drinks coming. I can't help it if I am lucky.
We did take a break from all these projects yesterday, we went for a nice dinghy ride up the Mississippi River. Lots of floating debris and a little choppy with the wind against the currenT but very pleasant. We also went for a nice walk to Swing Bridge Park to take a

Went out to test the dinghy and motor. Yes, we still have a leak that needs repairing. look at the channel out of here, looks nice and well marked. We passed the Mississippi Pub And low and behold, it was happy hour where an ice cold draft is $2.00 each, so we could't very well just have one since it is so hot.
I am thinking that we will not be pulling out of here for at least 2 weeks. it is a nice Marina so no hurry yet but we have to leave before the end of August if we are to stay ahead of the cold weather and floods. So far we are ahead of schedule.
