In the first open part of the ruins there were destroyed tombs but in a glass case for all to see were a pair of human remains from 400 years ago. And human remains seemed to be a running theme throughout the tour which was rather unexpected and eerie to say the least. We descending down spiral staircases to find more underground tombs with more human remains. We wouldn't be surprised if the place was haunted!
A more colourful part of the tour appeared in the form of 8 macaws perched freely on trees and they were beautiful and a lot bigger than expected.
We met up with our touring group today and Scott is one
of two males in a group of 16. He'll be desperate for a Vegas trip with the lads by the end of week 1! The tour leader is super friendly and the activities list we've had has got us very excited! In the next three weeks we shall be hiking and boarding down volcanoes, snorkeling and swimming with dolphins, zip lining through a rain forest, kayaking a lake around a volcano and white water rafting. But there is also plenty of opportunity to relax on the island of Roatan, chilling in an eco-lodge in the jungle, living with a Nicaraguan family, exploring the rain forest at night and watching the sunset from the other side of the world.By the way the blog has changed slightly from last time where we have to approve your comments before they appear on the page in case anyone was wondering why theirs weren't uploading.
Antigua has been awesome but it's time to move on.

On our way!
Fabulous venue, however, very disappointed with the staging! It needs both Nina and I to get there quickly to dress it to perfection, thus, we are on our way! xxx P.S. Would you ask them to iron the chair covers before we arrive!
