Well, not sure how this thing is going to go but I'll give it a shot.
I would not classify us as world travelers. We are really campers. We camp in North Florida and South Georgia. We have also been on our fair share of cruises to the Carribean and Mexico.
Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine that we would be applying for our passports and making plans to travel to Scotland, London and Paris.
I am not sure how all of these plans started but I know part of the plans started because of my golfer husband and circumstances of my extended family.
I am not sure the audience that I am writing to so I feel that there might be a little explanation that might be required.
I started golfing when I was 10 years old. Our brother paved the 'golfing way'. I wouldn't say that girl golfers were so prevalent when Cheryl and I started but our parents encouraged us and we found enjoyment and love for the game.
Long story short, I met my husband (Jeff) on the golf course and we've been married 13 years. When the conversation about Scotland came about I understood it. I stopped playing golf two kids ago so there wasn't a need for me to play but I thought that it would be cool for him to get that experience since he still plays.
Jeff has two older brothers, Scott and Alton. Alton unfortunately lost his wife to Breast Cancer last year. Joretta was a mother and wife that women aspire to be. Her loss has was not only a loss to Alton and their girls but a loss to a community of family and friends.
Alton, Kelsey and Megan are pretty amazing people and I aspire to have as much as grace, determination and love as they have.
Kelsey is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama. Megan is in the process of completing the Duke Tip program. Both girls have accomplished so much this past year.
Alton and Jeff will be playing golf in St. Andrews together.
Oh, we are bringing Gigi (my mom). Glenda is my mom and we all call her Gigi. When I told her about Scotland and she said she was coming and I'm pretty sure she started packing her bags last October. Gigi loves a road trip so this is right up her ally.
So, the Starlings and Gigi are going across the pond to celebrate life, family and golf.
Come enjoy our adventure with us. It's gonna be FUN!

So glad you are letting the 'ole lady' go. Glenda, I'm sure Europe will never be the same after you and your 'clan' :)
