Canadian Rockies Day 12

Day 12
Got a good nights sleep and hit the road by 9:30, gassed up (free breakfast), then stopped to fill the tank. We entered the U.S. About an hour later, and always nice to be back! No more converting kilometers to miles and Celsius to Fahrenheit! AND, millimeters to inches! Who measures rainfall in such small increments? Well, I reckon everybody beside the U.S. eh? Anyway, I don't like to have to think too much on vacation! Ok, enough of that. More beautiful scenery along the way, saw some deer and a few buffalo and a lucky squirrel we just missed, and then on to St Mary's where we stopped for a break. Then we headed away from Glacier National Park towards Lewiston, Montana, and then on to our home for the evening in Billings. Had a nice dinner at the Montana Chop House, and had a killer dinner and had a nice conversation with the server dude. He's studying aeronautics and is going to be a military pilot when he graduates. Very nice young man. Can't tell you how many nice folks we have met long the way. Just really adds to the whole adventure! Getting late and need to get some rest as we are still away's away! Hoping to get well into South Dakota tomorrow and hope to see the Badlands from the opposite way we went the week prior.

I bet you are correct about the safflower field. It's definitely a Canadian crop. Are the buffalo right on the side of the highway? Hope you were wearing your track shoes. :) Photos look like Yellowstone!

Welcome back to the USA! :) Love the buffalo pics! Did I ever tell you about the time that Ernie and I were almost run over by buffalo? I know they can run fast! Only a couple more nights until you are back in your own bed! :) ILYSM
