We're out of Toronto and on our way! The drive to Niagra Falls was easy and uneventful. The way it should be. We drove through the town of Niagra Falls (as opposed to Niagra On The Lake). Very touristy! We started at the main welcome center at Table Rock, just above the Horseshoe Falls. The weather was beautiful but every now and then the wind shifts a tiny bit and it's suddenly raining! You get sprayed just being there.

Lots of people, of course, and lots of souvenir shops. Still, we enjoyed it! We started with the Fury of the Falls, a short 4D movie about the creation of the falls. They hand out blue disposable rain ponchos for the movie! We got snowed on (with foam and cold air), rained upon, and misted, bumped around a bit and flown over and into the falls! No pictures from there as photographing was prohibited.

From there we went down into the tunnels below for the Journey Behind the Falls. Ponchos were distributed, of course. Yellow this time. You walk down a narrow, damp tunnel with rumbling all around. Along the way is a turnoff, where you can see the falls from behind. A little further on the tunnel turns to the left and opens out into the falls! You can't get too close, of course, but close enough.

You take your pictures and selfies, and head back. Before you get to the start, turn right to an observation deck right next to the falls, about midway down. Very impressive seeing all that water pouring over the ledge from up close!

We took the bus (prepaid with our tickets) to the Hornblower boat ride. Red ponchos here. The boat ride was fun, getting closer and closer to the falls, right into the mist cloud! We were right at the front of the boat, on the bow. Cool!

We got off the boat and continued to the White Water Rapids tour. This is a self-guided walk along class 6 rapids (that means the fastest and most dangerous class, usually regarded as unpassable). A lovely walk, forest to one side and the raging river on the other. Alas, no ponchos...

We finished the day with the bus ride back to the starting point. You can see it all right here:

After a quick picnic and headed into the US! Luckily there was no lineup at the border crossing. Gilat needed a stamp in her passport but that was quick and smooth, and we entered New York State.

An hour and a half drive to the Dollinger Hotel in Brockport, a beautiful little hotel, very friendly in a farming area. Lots of green. Lovely.

It's after 9:30 am here and we're about to leave for Syracuse via the Finger Lakes.

Till next time, bye!
