This is part 2 of 2 of our Skytrain/Seabus excursion in Vancouver. This one features photos taken in downtown Vancouver at/near the Skytrain Waterfront Station & the two Seabus terminals, one downtown near the Waterfront Station, the other at Lonsdale Quay/Market in North Vancouver.

WATERFRONT STATION is the major intermodal public transportation facility in Downtown Vancouver. It serves TransLink buses, SkyTrain, the SeaBus passenger ferry to Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, West Coast Express* commuter rail & TrainBus, & the HeliJet International helipad. Harbour Water Aerodrome float plane terminals are also located nearby. *(West Coast Express uses the old CPR tracks & platforms.) ViaRail used this station until 1979 when it consolidated its Vancouver operations at the CN station near False Creek (now called Pacific Central Station). More info:

It is now called Waterfront Station & is the terminus point for three SkyTrain metro lines & the Seabus system. Waterfront Station, the final destination for Skytrain’s Canada Line, is adjacent to the Seabus Terminal which takes you to North Vancouver.

Canada Place was originally built for Expo 86 as the pavilion for Canada. The striking white sails of the building have made it a prominent landmark for the city. Inside Canada Place is a first class hotel with a waterfall in the Lobby, as well as restaurants, lounge & shopping. It is also home to the Trade and Convention Centre. Most cruises to Alaska originate from the cruise ship facility at Canada Place .

Relly interesting, Rainy
Gee, your photos and research make Vancouver look like the city of tomorrow's already here! I didn't see these things when I was there a few years ago ... your fine photographer's eye did the trick again. Thanks for this interesting insight into our West Coast metropolis.

They sure did. I even asked the store clerk about that. He said Chihuly has not done much glass in recent years after he lost his eye.

A wonderfully maintained heritage building. Not many people recognize the Vancouver Club from this side - most entries are made from the other side, but I do see they have a doorman in your picture.
