Flores
From the view point From San Pedro we took the7:30 ferry to Belizecity and from the pier we got 10:00 o'clock bus to Flores, Guatemala. At the border we paid 18.75 USD for each, exit tax. The trip took almost 6 Hours . We liked the island Flores. The hostel ( Los Amigos) we stayed is for youngs and we felt young enough.
Most of the time we had dinner at hostel garden. We tried the street food at the lake side also few times.
After four days we travelled to Guatemalacity by night bus, which was very confortable, we arrived early morning when it was still dark. At such a dangerous city we took a taxi to the terminal for collectivo (chiken bus) to Antigua. We enjoyed the one hour trip with local music on the bus and the day light appeared.
We liked the town Antigua and expanded our stay than we have planned. We concluded that it is a town must be seen in a lifetime. Pure colonial town. Once was the capital. The Casa Maria Jose ( very close to La Merced Church) we stayed was confortable enough and was cheap enough for our budget.
We had
dinners with wine at Fondo de la Calle Real and Frida Restaurants and we took breakfast at Casa del Conde All the mornings.
On first of March we got a shuttle minibus to El Tunco, El Salvador which took six hours.
We missed you all. Take care.
