Friday night I took the train to Brighton where Teresa picked me up and we headed to Lisa’s. From Lisa’s Teresa, Jodie, Lisa and I all piled in to Lisa’s car and headed out. The National Wine Centre has an awesome design. It was designed to look like a wine barrel. I thought the location was very nice and so was the atmosphere, the wine and appetizers weren’t bad either. From here we headed to the market.

The Central Market is in Adelaide as well and I had never been and what a place, it’s quite a happening area. The market had lots of things from food to little souvenir shops and lots to eat. We ate at the Asian market and then headed home. Teresa was kind enough to drive me home. I had a great time getting to know these girls and what a great night. Thanks ladies!

Saturday was spent lounging around writing my blog until Teresa offered up a ticket to a concert, meeting more people, and Vietnamese. I am in. I hopped on the 734, yet again, to the train and was on my way to Seacliff. I had t get my bearings and then headed to Teresa's new digs. She too enjoys a great piece of furniture and making old things new. We headed over to V&G's for some sparkling red and what a treat that was. I've never had this. Then we took the tram which was yet again a new experience. Everything I feel, other than the bus and the train, is a new experience and all have been and adventure and great fun. Shae picked us up and we headed for dinner at a Vietnamese place.

I decided to take a risk and had a lemongrass dish with crocodile in it! From here we headed to the The Gov, which is a place where concerts are often held and my first night out in Adelaide! We had many laughs and I would say that perhaps it was the music that brought this out, but there were a lot of dreadlocks and very mellow people enjoying themselves. The opener was an Aboriginal man who had great music and a voice to go with it, he is very talented and an ex student of Willunga. Next to enter on stage was Blue King Brown they were more of a reggae type group and also very good. Overall a great night! From there Shae dropped us off and I stayed at Teresa’s. In the morning I had my first Vegemite and toast and didn’t have seconds. Then we headed to the market to get fresh veg and then Teresa dropped me off. I had a great weekend with Teresa and her friends and thankful that I was included.

Sunday afternoon Kelly and Kevin picked me up and we headed to the "country" to test drive vehicles, which was probably best seeming as it was my first time driving on the left side of the road. I made Kevin drive first and good thing because as we drove, so hilarious, hub caps flew off. A lady honked us down letting us know where one landed, then one flew off and I saw it in my peripheral vision. It provided a good laugh before I got behind the wheel. I am not gonna lie, I was a little anxious and giddy like a schoolgirl at the same time. You wouldn't have thought I had driven for almost twenty years, it makes you feel very incompetent and weird. I can't describe it it felt as though everything was backwards and I didn't know where to look half the time. Kevin and I repeated "stay on the left, stay on the left," now turn right but look where, where, where do I look? Don't forget to signal, O crap that's the wipers, where is the signal? Up or down? Ahhhhhh! I wasn't sure how Kevin and Kelly felt in that situation, but we survived. I knew she was a keeper she had attitude and a unique paint job! I then took Kelly and kevin to this Thai restaurant in Port Noarlunga to thank them for all of their help. I was actually glad I decided to purchase the 1998 Daewoo Lancer, with the 8o's yellow and blue graffiti paint job.

Crocodiles and Cars
Too bad, I think at some point Chris and I had a can of crocodile or alligator that someone brought back from the south. I gave it to the food bank as I didn't have a recipe that called for it... I was hoping to see the car in the pics, you'll have to take one and post it!
