No excuse to write, but smile anyway

Excerpt from email to mother:

I didn't write about some bad news in my last email. I finally had some things stolen. It shouldn't of happened by the plain fact I was in a safe guest house at a monastery that doesn't really ever have these problems but apparently bad luck and stupidity are great ways to change one's expectations. As I was going to sleep one night my roommate asked to charge his batteries so he took out my ipod charging and left it by the window. The window was open. Long nights, dogs barking more than ever, and a suspcisious fellow walked by but somehow the sound of the headphones being flung out the window after the machine didn't register and my dazed mind at 3am. So it was gone. It felt like a part of me too. I couldn't greive for ages but I'll stop right now. And than the next day I had Ishai's medium sized backpack out to dry since it was getting mildewy. Dissapeared. Along with my roommate who never apologized. Also my neighbor's umbrella. Crikies eh?

Great anniversary day for my 1st year out of the USA. Bush sure taught me a lesson about traveling.
