Hi

I am writing my blog for a change .

Here in Villatuerta 3.30PM sunny. Talking to a guy from Dublin, Brendan, Eva from the south of Brazil , Liz from Sacramento, and talking soccer. Great day as decided to send our bags to this albergue so was able to walk 18 km, which we managed easily. Today through vineyards and up and down to valleys, with some light rain so luckily took my jacket with me. Also lovely weather with temperature about 20 most of the day with tracks through ploughed fields where hay or wheat had growing. Last night in Puente la Reina out tea with Liz. As we caught the two buses, one from Cizur Menor to Pamplona then one to Puente la Reina, was in town by 11am so as we were waiting for the Albergue to open we were able to see the finish of the rollerblading race from Pamplona to Puente la Reina which they did in 1 hour and 7 minutes. Must be a good competition as plenty watching and supporting the athletes. A good variety of ages and great watching them pass the finish line. Then for our room for the night. Only two bunks and outside the window was the Iglesias de Santiago with the bells ringing every 15 minutes. Love the sounds of bells which rang all night. Great could tell the time without looking at your watch, great. Slept with the window open which was cool and good as was on the top bunk. A thunder and lightning storm at about 9.30PM when already in bed. As up at 6am most morning which is cooler at time of day, and most people are up and around and gone by 7am . Easier to have food in the first village or go to the village and buy fresh bread and cheese and have been a coffee in the village which we did today. And water has been no problem to obtain as most village have a good supply, which is good ad am trying to drink more to which I am succeeding. Also aiming to have a good meal each evening so some bread and cheese during the day for breakfast and lunch so a good meal at night is good. Last night the meal for 8.60 Euro was crumbled slim steak with cheese, lasagna with chips with water or wine so good value Plus some crumbled mash potatoes with meat inside. Liz had steak which was nicely cooked with chips plus other stuff picture to follow with any luck... time for a shower but hope to write more if I get the time and access

Hi Anne, How wonderful to read about your travels. Is this something you think would be good to have a link on our Mercy website for interested people? Perhaps you think it will be too personal though? Let me know. info@mercyspiritualitycentre.org.nz
