Hi Peeps,

We head off on 19 May, for 10 weeks, so there is a lot of planning to do. I'm just starting this blog and will add photos and maps as we go along. I just want to add a photo and see how quickly I can get my head around this blog, so here we go.

Our first stop is Rome, the Eternal city, so we want to see as much as possible. Our apartment is near the Colloseum and I think it will be fairly convenient, but more about that later. The "Dark Rome" tour of the Colloseum looks good, so I think that will be on our list.

Preparation is just about finished. Accommodation booked for Italy, France and the Hebrides, seats on trains booked, car hire organised, flights booked. We have one more visit to the travel agent to pick up all these tickets and vouchers and then it will be time to tidy the house and away!

Time now to think about luggage and what we're taking.

Hi, we were just in this morning...6:05am and the plane was on the ground. We had a great 3 weeks. Lazy lazy lazy. The carnival cruise line was a lot more layed back than others that we'd been on. We didn't need those "dress up " clothes! I'm looking forward to reading your blogs. Have a great holiday.

Packing
Packing sounds almost as exciting as traveling. Deciding what to take, visiting shops and duty free and practicing languages. But don't forget the TED stockings..I always take mine... Enjoy.
