Set out to be discovered by Hollywood today.

Parked at Hollywood and Highland, and visited the stars on the walk of fame. Whilst we had looked forward to this, they are really just a bunch of stars set in concrete on a sidewalk. You get the photo, and then....well, another photo, and another. Hmmm. tick.

Had bought tickets to Madam Tussauds online last night, so headed there next. Pretty cool and good value for money. Some of the models looked crap, but some were very realistic. Whilst there I met the real Sandra Bullock, so got a photo with her (see attached). She had dressed up like she was on the red carpet, and her skin was really waxy. Must be because of wearing stage makeup all the time we figured.

Found that the California Pizza Kitchen. Was based right here, so treated ourselves to a long lunch while watching try bards walk past. Not sure why but waiter recommended I drink the arrogant bastard ale, while Shiree had a NZ sav!

Drove up Gritth Observatory next...fun on the way there as stupid car GPS, which has now determined we are not in Texas, tried to send us out to sea. Very busy up there, but we snuck past the rangers 'park here' sign and gotta park right up the top (I can park a full size SUV in a compact park, right?).

Gary went inside and learned more useless facts about space and planets and shit, while after getting Hollywood sign photos, others lounged in the sun. Did you know that if our sun was the size of a golf ball, Betelguese would be the size of a 2 bedroom house?

After this it was unanimously voted by two of the four that we should go to the Grove shopping Centre. Liam and Gary took the opportunity to catch a movie (divergent) while the girls shopped (surprise). Exciting piece of news: they spotted a bonafide TV star, Parminder Nagra (blacklist, ER, Alcatraz). Luckily Gary wasn't there so she didn't stop, would have been awkward explaining how I am married and all that. 😊

Mexican for dinner, day over!
