Test packing our rucksacks to see if we can fit that extra pair of welly warmers or duds and socks. No Donna...the rucksacks dont have to be 'even'!!



Our backs are aching at just the thought of carrying these things. Other backpackers we spoke to say halve whatever you plan on taking and then halve it again....I dont think so! This is the 21st century after all...What would Buck Rogers say???


Packing up the house is one of the worst bits so far...We are convinced that career gappers have a much more difficult time of it than other gappers. We have a list as long as your arm of things to take care of before we go (most are to do with the blooming house)!


Both of us are experiencing waves of panic and that bloody countdown clock below does nothing but remind us of how little time we have left to get everything sorted.




Big questions are beginning to surface already. Things like "Do we need a yellow fever vaccination for Iguazu?" or "Do New Zealanders drive on the left?". More complex question include : "Can we survive in a campervan over Xmas? < ---I mean really....where would you put the plasma screen tv?" or "Do we go for a 20 hour bus journey between Mt Somethingorother and Port Inthemiddleofnowhere or do we pay a lot extra and fly?". More profound questions include: "Where will Neil get his ice cream from?" or "Will Donna be able to satisfy her fruit cravings?"

Hi Ho..Hi Ho...its Hoff travelling we go....
Forget the 5000 metre hike up to Macchu Picchu...Balancing the rucksacks to the nearest Kilo will be Donnas biggest challenge!!!

Boxes packed...check.
Its like packing your life in a box. Anything that will age massively has to be sold off before we go. Neil will be selling himself at the cattle market auction this coming Saturday.

Packing has come a long way...
Nice to see you're actually using boxes for packing...It is true that you learn by you're mistakes...Remember Nottingham to Reading? Crockery did not pack well in bin bags!

Anyone chosing to stay here rather than going on a one year travel should have his head examined... so Hoff I go again (remember to remove all metal items first)! See you at the leaving party! Magno.
