At LAX Christmas Eve picking up Jason and Nicole
Christmas officially started when we picked up Jason and Nicole at the airport on Christmas Eve. We headed straight over to Will and Renee's where Zeke was disguised as the Christmas tree. I decided to unload all my old shopping bags, yarn scraps and post it notes for gift tags. Gifts this year was a combination of all the souvenirs we got in Alaska and the anticipation of the next two days at Disney Land and California Disney parks. We had been hoarding 8 pounds of King Crab Legs we had purchased in Valdez, AK and steamed them up for dinner with lemon butter sauce.

Christmas morning we started at Disney Land around 10am the park was decorated for Christmas everywhere you looked. The estimated attendance at the park that day was between 80 - 100,000 people. We met up with Bernie and Cindy's son David and his family after the 2pm parade to say Hi. Late afternoon we took a break to feed the dogs, then went back and stayed until it closed at midnight. The firework display was canceled that night due to the high winds, but they had snow machines making the night even more magical. It

was a fun but exhausting day.

We went back the next day and concentrated on the California Disney Park, that had an incredible roller coaster and Ferris Wheel and a Cars Land area with unique Christmas trees decorated in car themes; tires, hubcaps, and air filters. Another all day at the park closing it down at 11pm.

On the 27th Pat and I stopped at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. It is very beautiful, the outside has etched glass windows of Angels overlooking the freeway. A full size hand carved Nativity from Italy, donated by Bob Hope, was in the courtyard. Inside on the walls were tapestries of the saints. The entry had another Nativity Scene.

That night we celebrated the New Year and my impending 60th birthday at Yamashiro's restaurant.
