Eagle View RV resort at Fort McDowell Casino We left Tucson December 3rd and headed up the road to the Eagle View (Asah gwen oou-o) RV Resort in Fort McDowell, AZ located in the Yavapai Nation. As part of the welcome package we were given two $15.00 player club credits at the casino. After dinner we decided to play some slots with the money. I played off all my money with a little win here and there to keep me going. Pat, on the other hand didn't hit a thing until the last spin when he hit a 1,200 quarter jackpot . Winner winner chicken dinner.
Our RV spot backed up to a wash with signs posted along the fence "Enter at your own risk". One night while we were walking Leisel we heard an ol' Hoot Owl. We spotted him sitting in the tree about 30 feet away while we were watching him watch us another owl joined him. We encouraged Leisel to hurry up with her business or become a morsel for their dinner.
The nearby town of Fountain Hills has one of the world's tallest man-made fountains, and shoots water 560 feet in the air. Quite a spectacle to, it runs 15 minutes at

Fort McDowell Casino the top of the hour and we could see it from our campgrounds 3 miles away.
The highlight of the visit was going to the Anrea Bocelli concert hosted by Joe and Annette. It was a marvelous evening starting out with a limousine ride to the US Airways Center, then dinner in the stadium suites while we enjoyed this amazingly talented man. We were in awe.
On the 10th we headed to San Diego to visit our friends, Greg and Kathy. We met them in the late '70's when we were raising kids together at the townhouses in Missouri City. On our way we passed through the middle of the Sand Dunes again. Amazing views right out of the movies. The family owns the Paradise by the Sea RV resort and what a paradise it is. We were greeted with the most beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean, at Buccaneer Beach just yards from the park. The park in located on the Loma Alta Creek which is a wildlife preserve for beautiful ducks and other fowl life. We enjoyed a couple of days visiting with the family and meeting Greg and Kathy's 3 beautiful grandchildren. We also got

Two 'ol Hoot Owls watching Leisel to help them decorate for Christmas so we didn't miss decorating this year.
We took the short drive to the Anaheim area on Friday and stayed at the Orangeland RV park in Orange, CA. This is where we spent Christmas. We decorated our dash with a little tree, Nativity scene and garland, and put a decoration on our welcome sign. All of the decorating took ten minutes. Gotta love the simple RV life. The claim to fame of this park is the tremendous amount of citrus trees growing all over the park at every site. It is free for the picking as long as it is not on someone else's site. They had Velencia and Navel oranges, tangerines, Ruby red and white grapefruit, lemon and limes.
We got a great laugh with Will and Renee' one night when we described a new way to get to their place in LA saving 10 minutes. As we recited all the highways we had taken, "We started on the 57, to 91, to the 605, then the 105, to the 110 and finally to the 101" they started laughing and said we sounded like the Saturday Night Live skit "The Californians'.

Leisel you better hurry. We watched a u-tube video, which we had never seen or heard of before and sure enough that is exactly how we sounded.
We had some last minute shopping to do and one night we went to The Grove shopping center in Hollywood to the movies one and spotted Santa doing a fly over. What a sight with the full moon in the background.
