We all know what aspects about ourselves we like and what aspects we need to work on. I am hoping from this travel experience to become somewhat more organized.

I needed to mail my passport to Vietnam to receive a visa. So I mail the passport, a check and the form. Then when asked to pay I realize my credit card is gone! I search everywhere and know I had it 5 minutes ago while getting the money order. Finally I realize to be "safe" I put it inside my passport which was sealed in the envelope! Luckily I realized in time and was able to switch the contents over to a new envelope. All was well or so I thought...

The embassy called me (we all know if an embassy is calling you it can't be a good thing) to tell they received all my documents but no money!!! It appears in switching the envelope the money had gotten thrown out. Now I am still waiting for my passport to get returned after I had to send more money away.

This taught me a few early lessons which I'm sure will be helpful later.

1. Take the time to check you have everything. The extra 5 minutes you save will not be worth your valuables going missing

2. Leave extra time for things as when things shouldn't go wrong they will.

3. Make a list of what you need and check it off.

4. Breathe, being emotional won't get you anywhere

Let's hope this all works out. This blog is dedicated to Ms. Ling who always seem to have a system in place to be organized and the letters o and p or organized and patient what I aspire to learn to be one day.
