Our 2-month jaunt around Europe may have ended, but the story continues and the memories linger on ……….
Over the coming weeks, we shall continue to tell the story of our travels - from cruising along the delightful Dalmatian Coast of Croatia in a vintage sailing motorboat; to the ruins of ancient Greece and island-hopping; our solemn visit to the battlefields of Gallipoli and on to the many delights that is Turkey.
Long days of bus and train journeys and sometimes, even longer nights of overnight travel and lack of internet connections, were not conducive to publishing blog entries en route but, were often useful for being able to maintain a travel journal which the blogs spring from.
We have seen and done some amazing things where we almost had to pinch ourselves to believe we were where we were. We have met many interesting people along the way - some we will remain in contact with, others were a moment in time which only added to our enjoyment of that particular experience.
We have been fortunate enough to have shared many of these experience
with dear friends; we have also had only the two of us in the solitude that only two can share when in a foreign land where you don't know another soul.
We have laughed a lot; been almost brought to tears walking the battlefields of Gallipoli; dealt with the frustrations that only travel can bring; been so tired that you felt you could have crawled onto the nearest flat surface and slept for a week and, our lives are the richer for all of these experiences. We wouldn't trade a moment of it.
Thank you for your patience. We have not forgotten you, our readers, and hope you will continue to follow us in the coming weeks .....
Yours in travel,
SkiSet

Welcome back home
I look forward to reading the future blogs. I have enjoyed the blogs you posted. It is a pain in the @#$ to keep the blog going while you are travelling which is why mine are ever only half completed. Sylvia is always complaining that we never get home in our blogs! When we do physically get home, I am too distracted by life to finish them off. John
