We arrived at Risser's beach Provincial camp ground. This place is gorgeous. We got a site on the water. The sites are large and you access the water by a path from your camp site. We had arms of rock protecting a little sand beach shared only with our neighbouring site, who were lovely people, Jim and Della. You can also walk down the beach (not at high tide) to get to the large public beach where Jacob could run up and down the beach on hard packed sand, chasing the waves or maybe they were chasing him. The weather turned to deep blue skies, no wind and 22 to 23 degrees, awesome. We spent one day driving further down the coast to check out different beaches, walking along the water, picking shells, looking for interesting rocks. Each beach was different, more protected, less, shells on some and not on others. We got back late to cook under the light of the moon, and watch the flames of our fire. Next day, between visits with our neighbours and their dog Teddy, we went to Hirtles Beach. Hirtles is the first beach we went to with Janet and George. It is a long beach with the largest surf we have seen here. The tide was out and you really get the sense of walking out forever. We walked to the end of the beach and took the trail out to gaff point. It's a nice walk that takes you through forest to rocky ocean side and back. I liked that the volunteer group setting the trail had used the slate stone from the beach to pave some of the marshy bits. We got back to our campsite in time for a supper at sunset. Just being at our camp felt like being in a postcard. The moon rose full and we burned the rest of our firewood under its intense glow. It was a fitting but slightly melancholy end to our stay here. Neither of us wanted to leave. We did leave in the morning, but not until we had driven the winding shore road once again, through picturesque villages with high end art coops and celebrated bakeries, over the ferry that crosses Le Havre river, and back to Janet's for one last hug.

Hello from Ontario
This looks like a great introduction into the new school year. Jacob learns in an outdoor classroom. Continue to have fun. The pictures are really nice and the descriptions very tempting. I think we shall return to the East Coast next summer. There is too much beauty there not to experience. Be well geri & chris z.

Thanks Geri, we really are having a great time. Jake left for Ireland yesterday and I am off to Italy on the 10th, so the next leg of the year off begins.
