We are sitting at McDonald's in Sydney. Coffee for the 2 of us was $5.45. The Macstore is next door so I am going to ask them why we have trouble getting on - security.Flight was fine. Sat beside a very chatty Australian lady who is married to an American. Has lived in Denver for 17 years, but they are planning to move back here when the youngest finishes high school. She is in grade 12 now. And this lady has gone back to university here in Melbourne to take nursing. She only has 18 months left. Interesting.university tuition here is much more like home - $7000 a year and there's ways for kids to make money easily here.Anyways, we chatted, had dinner, beef with veggies and coleslaw etc. Dad could eat it.then, we sort of slept. Qantas provided pillows and blankets, each seat had it's own screen with lots of choice, news, games, movies, music, tv etc. Dad read and I tried a couple of games, but they were slow with the hand thingie you had to use. ( Nicole, you would laugh because, they had "the Man from Snowy River"Our taxi in from the airport was $62. A little expensive. We might have to find out about cheaper ways. We have been to the hotel and they are storing our luggage, but said we could come back about 10 AM. Pretty good! So we will go back and get organized. Our carry-on luggage has a weight limit. They started to weigh it on the Qantas flight before we boarded an we were both way over, but they then changed their minds and said to board. We were also talking to Gal from Saskatoon. She got a job in Brisbane as a geologist 2 1/2 years ago and is now expecting twins. No mat leave here, but husband makes good money so she will take at least a year off. She loves it here!It is rather interesting that people are coming in here to get their morning coffee on their way to work on Wednesday, Sept 11 and you are just finishing your workday!Have to look at getting the blog set up!Love to all,

Sounds fun
I have a housekeeper today to get ready for the weekend but I don't think I'll get her again, she wants to do everything her way and doesn't like my way. Who's paying for this anyway? But I guess it will be cleaner anyways. Heather is at work but they told her she should not have any more 4AM shifts Yeh!!!! Joy and Patsy are both coming to stay for a few days so I won't get time to rest up this week. Should be fun though having them here. The real estate guy told me to bring the 'real property report' but he neglected to mention the report from the city, the lawyer sent the request in but it may not get back in time for the closing day on the 18th. More fun and games. Hope you are still enjoying the sights. Hugs. E.

Put another shrimp on the barbie!
Sounds like a fairly trouble free trip to Down Under. Your picture in front of the water and opera house in Sydney was really nice! Kinda weird to know we're communicating with each other so easily and yet you are half way around the world!! Keep having fun! Hope the rain lets up and the sun comes out!

Sounds like you are having a great holiday. Enjoy! We just got home from a 15 day trip to Newoundland. Had a great time. Some cool rain and fog but a lot of sunshine too and the temp was in the 20's with high humidity. Something we were not used to.

Newfoundland
Hi Glenda, Glad you had a great holiday. We found another place that changes by half an hour! At Ayres rock, they didn't know there was another place either!! We loved Newfoundland and the Newfies. Only been once but would love to go back sometime. I think the Aussies would relate, even the accents!!
