Hello again everybody,

The last few days have been great. On Friday we took a day trip out of Inverness to Fort George. We thought it would be a good idea to take the train to Nairn and then walk the rest of the way along the highway - not such a great idea. The walk was a lot longer than we expected and we ended up resorting to hitchhiking the last few miles. Luckily the third car stopped for us. A friendly 84 year old man took us to the fort - he didn't look a day over 60. The fort was pretty cool (Dad would've loved it) but the highlight was watching a group of dolphins play around right in front of us for about 45 mins. We bused home - thank God!!! The next day we went into Newtonmore and took in the Highland games. This was a great way to spend a day - we saw highland dancers, tons of bagpipes, and of course, men in kilts lifting and throwing heavy stuff! Later that night we went out to a pub for dinner and Tamara, being the brave soul she is, tried Haggis... she liked it and described it as meaty, mushy stuffing... mmmmm! (Tamara says "in your face BJ"). After our sheepy meal we had a few drinks with two old English men, which is always fun. If you are keeping a good record of where we're supposed to be, you might be wondering why were in Glasgow already... the answer is - trains suck on Sundays and we are currently in a 5 hour lay-over before getting to Fort William tonight at 10 pm (we've been on the train since 10 am!).

It's been over two weeks since we've been on good old Canadian soil - so let us know what's going on with everyone and with E-town... I'm sure you guys all have some good stories we've missed out on. We miss you all!!

not much new in E town
Hi Alex and Tamara, Well I guess your about halfway through your trip (do you need us to send you some smelling socks?). Not much new here, Francine is working at the Y camps, Mom is house cleaning, and Dad has finished painting the bathroom and hallway. He is probably going fishing soon so the flooring may have to wait a bit. Alice is still getting garden lettuce, and we are getting garden peas, beans, and tomatoes. You guys stay safe (Mom doesn't like the word hitch-hiking), have fun, and try not to get homesick. love Mom, Dad, Francine, and Alice
