Is it hibiscus?
Today was another kind of quiet day. We ran and swam (of course) and then headed out to Lagos (pronounced Lagosh). We walked along the pier and saw lots of big fish in the rocks close to the pier as well as some big crabs! Then we checked out the Forte de Badeira which is at the end of the promenade and has a good lookout in all directions. Then we wandered through the cobblestone pedestrian-only streets and shops. It did reach a high of 32 today which was hot but there was still a nice breeze and humidity was only 26% so the heat was bearable. Having said that, there was still quite a bit of time spent in the pool both in the morning and at the end of the day.

Not much else to blog today, but let me give you fair warning....tomorrow's blog will be a good one! (Hint: if anyone has any ideas of fun things to do in Seville Spain let us know ASAP in the comments area).

Chicken piri piri. Very hot. I made some on the BBQ at home tonight. Only me and Russ ate it although he skipped the piri piri sauce part of the experience.

These birds build big 4' nest atop any convenient pole or chimney. Anyone know what it is Stork?

There's a 1 km strip on the N125 where all the orange vendors cluster. Some are as small as a teen with a plastic chair, a folding table and 3 bags of oranges to sell. You get 8kilo bag for about 3 Euros.

SIESTA IN SEVILLE
Hi guys, HI Nigel, I enjoy your blog very much. In the Summer, Seville shuts down aroud 1 pm, literally shuts down, everything closes for the siesta, things start picking up only around 5 pm ! and then it gets really busy - Plan accordingly, I remember wondering around with nothing to do and nowhere to go during that time, no pool, no water side nothing. this was in 2003, in july. There are a couple of beautiful arabic palaces to visit but not in the afternoon, they will close.

I\'m sure you will go see the Cathederal of Seville - but not forget to check out the Giraldi (Bell Tower right beside the Cathederal). Ask someone why the way up to the top is shaped the way it is - I thought it was interesting. Also gives you a great view of the city. The Alcazar is pretty interesting also. They are all located very near each other - actually in the same square. When in Spain, you have to check out the tapas.

Yes it is a hibiscus!
I have three around the pool - aren't they beautiful? Unfortunately it's too cold here to leave them out so we try to bring thim in for the winter but then Max chews on them and ultimately kills them. So something to do in Seville Spain.............hmmmmmm.....maybe a bull fight?
