I´m not joking at all when I say we spent Friday and Saturday recooperating. It felt grrreat! We only went out to eat. I´m a person who greatly appreciates food and I was having a hard time dragging myself out the door! You can just imagine how hard it must have been on a normal appeite.

SUNDAY (7-30)

Sunday we were forced by God´s Will to get up. Nice and early too. Though after chuch all we did was eat our breakfast and come back home.

Dorita and I left a little while later to Riocentro. We got tickects to see the second Pirates of the Carribean and within the 45 minute wait, we walked around wasting time. We got to see one of the wanna-be Ecuador-team-player trying to raise some money. He was in this small gated section challenging others with a little keepaway. Oh, how I wanted to go in there and show him my A game, but there was no way I was going to pay eight dollars to do so! So we continued on our way. Sadly.

While watching the movie, I couldn´t help but laugh at Johnny Depp, just because of his character in the movie. Though overall I was disappointed in the movie. It wasn´t nearly as good as the original and it leaves you hanging at the end...

That was my Sunday: movies and food.

MONDAY (7-31)

Today is special because this is my 50th day here in Ecuador! Isn´t that crazy? It definitley doesn´t feel like it!

In the morning, at school, I taught my Kindegarten classes and my 6th grade class. They can really ware you down!

In the afternoon, after lunch, I waited for Dorita to come home from work and when she did we headed out to Malecón Arte to pick up Ecuadorian made crafts for me to take home. It was an amazing place and I took full advantage of it with my great barganing skills I´ve learned here.

TUESDAY (8-1)

The first day of August marks that I have just 10 more days left in this country I´ve fallen in love with! How sad...

Today there was a little change in the normal agenda. Instead of teaching my 1st and 7th graders today, I went to the finca! It was mainly to take Srta Lupe to her house in Chongon. And this time Sra. Marrianna came in Sr. Correa´s place. We all had a good time though because of this surprise trip, this time I didn´t have my insect repellent and the mosqitoes got the best of me.

This afternoon, Dorita and I went downtown to pick up some Guayaveras to take home though we were encountered with a little problem: my card expired yesterday!!

Well with the cash that I had we went to the Bahía to pick up a few necissary objects before heading home for the night.

And what a great surprise I had tonight: a call from my mommy and daddy!! It was great to hear from them. We figured out things with the card and I got caught up with things that are happening back home. My ñaño was home with his wife so if you guys are reading I´m sorry you couldn´t understand everything that was being discussed! That conversation was a good, long one and after I hung up with my family I went to bed!

Until next time,
Shir

I really should give Titi Jaqui a fair shot at a first comment.... ok, maybe next time! You could'a asked that guy if he would take on a girl for free. Then you coulda schooled him hahahaha. Would like to be there for that! Good to see you resting, and catching up with the blogs; with this your backlog drops to only six days. Hope you catch up and have a great couple more days, then a pleasant ride back, before we see you! Yoohoo! Mua!
