The World Clock on AlexanderplatzThe World Clock on AlexanderplatzThe World Clock on Alexanderplatz

Featured in the action movie "The Bourne Supremacy," it was fufilling to see it in real life. PS if you can zoom in, notice that the center of the clock is on Anchorage time!
What can I say about Berlin? Well, let me tell you this: Berlin is the coolest city ever, and I don't think I can talk to you if you haven't been there. I can't really explain why, I just feel like a better person than you after seeing Der Stadt. So please go to Berlin or stop reading right now.

We were really really fortunate to be able to stay at my friend Francisco Blache (I probably spelled his name wrong) house in the suburb near Grunau station for four full nights. The first night, we just went for a nice night swim in the nearby lake, but the next day we were off. Francisco explained to us that Berlin is the biggest construction site in the world. True enough, the closest thing Berlin has to a center, "Alexanderplatz" was covered with cranes and bulldozers. Everywhere we went, it was under construction. Maybe because of the wall, Berlin still feels it has to catch up with the other Western European capitals. To that I say: Don't, Berlin. I love you the way you are.
I don't have enough time to describe all the things we saw, but lots

Located in East Berlin, it became the "world's largest construction site" after the wall fell.
of monuments, museums, culture, the odd mixture of socialist and corporate and art school architecture, and just all the interesting things found in a world capital. Berlin is not like Paris, neat and compact, in fact I read that its 8x bigger. So, Los Angeles + Good Public Transportation + More Culture + Other things = Berlin. I really wish we could've spent more time there, but maybe I will just move there. If you come see me when I get back I'll do a better job, I swear.

I'll just upload a few pictures of some of my favorite things. Sorry for the cop-out.

Are the Germans aliens, or just really smart?

Better than the Arc de Triumf? Or Nelson's Column? Or the Colliseum? Who am I forgetting? A terrible picture of it, especially when you expand it.

David Does Berlin!
Hey you! . . Sorry that it has been awhile since I left you a comment. .I was busy with work and such, you know. Still, I am super-jealous that you got to enjoy Berlin. . Amazingly enough, it was filled with cranes and such when I was there as well. It seems that maybe it is always like that. Hope you are enjoying yourself and haven't run out of money yet. Take care of yourself!
