crowded house sing the lyrics, “everywhere u go, always take the weather with u”.. such lyrics have never been sung in a more pertinent context than during a 6 day hike along the west highland way in the northern scottish highlands.

our mostly chipper party of 4 familiarised themselves with all the colours of the climactic + atmospheric conditions, sometimes even within the same day! the weather ranged from harsh stones of hail, battering rain + thrashing wind to days of placid stillness + glowing, shimmering sunshine.

the team consisting of maRKie mark + sanna townsend + the kangakilts started the 154km (96miles) route at milngavie (near glasgow). we then passed through mugdock country park, followed the shores of loch lomond, passing ben lomond, through glen falloch + strathfillan, crossing rannoch moor, past buachaille etive mor to the head of glencoe. we then ascended the devil’s staircase, we then descend to sea level where we crossed the river leven at the head of loch leven before entering lairigmor + glen nevis and finished at gordon square in fort william to the sound of triumphant bagpipes blasting out the epic cry of victory for the mighty

kangakilts/townsend party.

the terrain ranged from lowland moors, dense woodland + rolling hills, to high mountainous regions in the scottish highlands. there were a diverse range of wildlife species. we drew up a list on day one of animals we wanted to see. creatures on the list we saw were plenty of deer + one hawk off in the distance. animals on the list that we didn’t see were badger, red squirrel, fox + the loch lomond monster.. we also saw plenty of field mice but they weren’t on the list.

all this to say a most splendid walk of many stars, dangerous ace community, reputable conversation, full smiles + stories of greatness.
