Today we got up late, we were so tired. Oh look, it's raining. We had a nice leisurely breakfast then packed up for the start of our journey back to Amsterdam. We did do some more sightseeing first, we strolled through the Jardin du Luxembourg and it was very beautiful, we sat and enjoyed this peaceful oasis in the middle of Paris. After that we did some window shopping and the great thing about Paris is , everywhere you walk you wlll see something noteworthy. So it was that we stumbled upon the Pantheon, well, not that you can stumble on it, the height of its Dome is the second highest in the City after the Eiffel Tower. But we had no idea what it was until we got close. This is where Voltaire, Victor Hugo, the Curie's, Rousseau and several other great french men were encrypted.
Afterwards we walked around and wandered into a little restaurant for lunch, Steve has had it with the rich creamy foods so he ordered french onion soup because of his excellent experience the night before with French Onion soup at our hotel restaurant, and I ordered a pasta carbonara dish. When it came
you can imagine my surprise when right smack dab in the middle there was the sunny side of an eggyolk (photo), Steve pulled his phone out pretty fast for a picture when he saw the look on my face ..lol.
We strolled back to the Luxembourg Gardens for one last visit (in the rain) then across the street to our Hotel to pick up our suitcases and caught the bus back to Gare Du Nord. We were ready to leave Paris, it had been raining when we came and luckily had one half day with no rain when we saw the Eiffel Tower. On the Thalys train Steve made a short video to show how fast we Were going. Au revoir Paris!
