Road to Wanaka
red double decker bus - an odd sight to see in New Zealand
To be perfectly honest, I have absolutely no time to write more than about one paragraph for each day and am already well behind with photos to show you. I’m normally a night owl, but our days are so full with driving and sight-seeing that by the time we reach our campground, possibly have a briefing on the next day’s trip or eat out with some of our new friends, it’s already 9:00 and sometimes I’m so tired, I just fall into bed and sleep through until 06:00 the next morning when my darling husband wakes me with a cup of tea.
So, bear with me please, and forgive the fact that I may have to write additional details after I return home. It’s a pity, but otherwise, I’ll still be writing about New Zealand once we reach Australia.
Much of the scenery of South Island has such stunning vistas that it’s like viewing a picture postcard around each corner. Of course, it’s not all like that but there really is a laid back atmosphere in much of the country. One of the Kiwis told me that it’s like living in 1950’s England. Many of the

sunshine through the clouds at dusk people we meet are genuinely interested in tourists and often wish us well on our trip.
P.S. Is anyone reading my posts? If so, please comment occasionally so I know that I’m not just writing this for myself. If you are reading this, I hope you’re enjoying the photos.

Loving the pics
We can only imagine how tiring it must be to be "on the go" for such a long stretch of time. So glad you can post once in a while, though, to give us a glimpse of your experience. I can't wait to see all of your photos and hear your stories. There will be plenty of time to fill in the gaps when you get back--no pressure! (PS. I bet you could have explored that quilt shop for HOURS!) Love to you both! xo
